Swimming with Whales: When the Lord Calls You Deeper

“Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all Your waves and billows have gone over me.”
~ Psalm 42:7
Editor’s Note: This journal entry is a prophetic dream interpretation for anyone sensing the pull of spiritual depth in this season. Dreams like this aren’t symbolic fluff — they are invitations, thresholds, and commissioning moments. This post explores what the Lord is saying through imagery, biblical parallels, and the current season of Victoria’s own awakening journey.
A Journal Entry from the Depths
I had a dream this morning that didn’t just linger —
it summoned me.
The kind of dream that leaves the atmosphere charged when you wake.
The kind that feels more like a visitation than a vision.
The kind that calls your spirit before your mind catches up.
In the dream, I was here — in the village I live in now.
A man took me on a date and we walked through different pubs, rooms buzzing with noise and bodies, but empty of substance.
It was life without life.
Movement without meaning.
A portrait of the shallows.
And then everything shifted.
We passed a house, and an older woman — wise, steady, anchored — called out to us from her front garden and invited us in.
She didn’t feel random.
She felt sent.
We stepped inside.
She led us through her home and then out onto the terrace.
And there it was.
Not a garden.
Not a yard.
Not a beach.
An ocean.
Right up against the house.
A sheer, sudden drop into deep, blue water —
with stone steps carved downward like an ancient Roman bath.
Tier upon tier.
Layer upon layer.
Depth upon depth.
I said aloud,
“This is very deep water.”
She nodded.
Then she said the line that lit my spirit on fire:
“Yes… and wait till you see what comes next.
Whales swim up here.”
Whales.
Not fish.
Not dolphins.
Not friendly little creatures that stay near the shore.
Whales — the giants of the deep.
The ones who don’t waste their time in the shallows.
The ones who only appear where the water can hold their weight.
And she said they often swam with them.
So I did what my spirit would always do.
I got in.
I descended the steps and entered the water.
I don’t remember the details, but I know this:
I swam with whales.
In deep, ancient, blue waters.
And I wasn’t afraid.
I belonged there.
When I woke, the dream pressed on me —
heavy with meaning, thick with revelation.
And then I heard Him whisper:
“Daughter, I am calling you deeper.”
The Interpretation: Deep Calls to Deep
This is not a dream about romance.
This is not a dream about adventure.
This is not a dream about animals.
This is a commissioning dream.
The Houses
The crowded pubs represent the world of noise —
the busy, shallow, surface-level life you’ve walked away from.
The Wise Woman
This is the Holy Spirit in the form of wisdom,
or an angelic guide,
or the prophetic matriarchs who have gone ahead.
It’s the invitation of God through a mature spiritual presence, saying:
“Come further. You’re ready.”
The Ancient Steps
These are not modern steps.
They are Roman, structured, carved into stone.
This is order.
This is foundation.
This is apostolic depth.
God isn't calling me into chaos —
He’s calling me into dimension.
The Deep Water
This is the realm of the Spirit where most believers never go.
Not because it isn’t available,
but because it requires surrender.
The Whales
Whales represent:
the prophets
ancient wisdom
deep revelation
heavy mantles
spiritual maturity
the mysteries of God
They do not visit shallow places.
I must go where they are.
Whales are the guardians of the deep.
They swim with those called to steward weight.
And I swam with them.
The Biblical Parallel: The Call of the Deep
God always calls His prophets into deep water:
Ezekiel was led from ankle-deep to waters he could not cross (Ezekiel 47).
Peter was called to launch into the deep before revelation broke open.
Jonah was swallowed in the deep to reawaken his calling.
Job was asked if he understood the mysteries “in the depths of the sea.”
David said the deep cried out to him.
Jesus walked on water to demonstrate mastery over the depths.
The deep has always been God's classroom for prophets.
I’m now entering that school.
The Prophetic Timing: Why This Dream Now?
This is coming exactly as:
my writing is increasing
my seer anointing is sharpening
my prophetic gift is expanding
my authority is rising
my boundaries are solidifying
my revelations are deepening
my calling is becoming unavoidable
This dream is the Lord saying:
“Enough of the shallows.
Come into the place where my mysteries dwell.”
I am not being invited into ministry.
I am being summoned into depth.
The Word For Others
This is not a season for ankle-deep faith.
This is not a season for shallow waters.
This is not for lukewarm Christianity.
This is for the women who feel the tug.
The ones who know they were born for depth.
The ones who hear the whisper of God calling from the deep.
This is your confirmation:
Yes — you can go deeper.
Yes — you’re ready.
Yes — the whales will meet you.
Yes — the deep is calling you by name.
But understand this:
You will never find whales in the shallows.
You must step into the depth to see what God has reserved for you.
