When Two Kingdoms Collide: The Day Prophetic Fire Walked Into a Medieval Faith

“For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” ~ 2 Corinthians 3:6
Editor’s Note: This post is not a critique of individuals or a condemnation of any denomination. It is a prophetic exploration of the spiritual clash I encountered between a system of religion built on fear, penance, and ritual, and the Spirit-led life of freedom, revelation, and transformation found in Christ. The Lord revealed this contrast to help others recognise similar battles in their own lives. This teaching exposes the religious spirit that opposes prophetic fire—not the people who have been shaped by it.
The Clash I Never Saw Coming
I used to think the attacks came because I was misunderstood.
Or too intense.
Or too honest.
Or too spiritually open for people who preferred safe, tidy religion.
But that wasn’t it.
I wasn’t dealing with a personality problem.
I wasn’t dealing with a family conflict.
I wasn’t even dealing with human behaviour.
I was dealing with two different kingdoms.
And when they collided,
fire fell.
Masks ripped.
Demons manifested.
And I was caught in the crossfire of a war I didn’t realise I had stepped into.
I walked into a house thinking it was Christian.
It turned out to be medieval.
And the Spirit in me confronted the spirit in them the second I crossed the threshold.
The Religion They Carried and the Fire I Walked In With
Here’s what I didn’t know at the time:
This was Traditional Latin Mass Catholicism — the old line, the old rituals, the old worldview where:
suffering equals holiness
pain equals purification
obedience equals salvation
joy is suspicious
revelation is dangerous
the Spirit is secondary
and Scripture is filtered through human hierarchy
It’s not the Catholics you meet in everyday life.
It’s the old-world, pre-Reformation, pre-Bible-in-your-own-hands Catholicism.
The one from the dark ages.
The one built on fear.
The one built on penance.
The one built on control.
And into that system…
I walked in with prophetic fire.
Freedom.
Joy.
Revelation.
Discernment.
Holy Spirit flow.
Authority.
Identity.
The voice of God speaking directly.
No priest required.
It was oil and water.
Spirit and stone.
New wine and old wineskin.
And when the two touched?
They ruptured.
Why I Became the Threat
For the longest time, I couldn’t understand it.
Why attack the one who was kind?
Why slander the one who helped?
Why hunt the one who did nothing but bring peace, support, and compassion?
But now I see it clearly:
Joy terrifies a religion built on suffering.
Freedom threatens a system built on control.
Revelation exposes a faith built on ritual.
Prophetic clarity unmasks traditions built on fear.
I wasn’t the threat.
The Spirit in me was.
It wasn’t personal.
It was doctrinal.
It was spiritual.
It was ancient.
It was inevitable.
I carried the gospel of transformation.
They carried the gospel of penance.
And those two gospels cannot coexist peaceably.
One sets captives free.
The other needs them bound.
The Day I Realised It Was Never About Me
This revelation came to me like lightning:
This wasn’t a family clash.
It was a kingdom clash.
The Spirit showed me:
You carry intimacy with God.
They carry fear of Him.You carry revelation.
They carry ritual.You carry grace.
They carry guilt. You carry the Spirit.
They carry the system. You carry the New Covenant.
They carry the shadows of the Old.You walk with God.
They walk with men who claim to speak for Him.
You were always going to be a problem,
because your very presence exposed the emptiness of the religion they’d spent their entire lives serving.
Just like Jesus exposed the Pharisees.
Just like Paul exposed the Judaizers.
Just like Elijah exposed the prophets of Baal.
This is what prophets do without meaning to:
They walk into a room and the spirits people serve rise up in resistance.
Not because prophets are wrong,
but because prophets reveal what’s been hidden.
And the religious spirit always hates revelation.
Why My Friend Was Drawn and His Family Reacted
This part matters.
My friend wasn’t like them.
He was a convert.
A Protestant heart forced into Catholic clothing.
He recognised the light in me — desperately so.
He saw the joy, the freedom, the God-is-real-and-speaking-today life I carried.
He was drawn like a man who had tasted water after a lifetime of drought.
But the family?
They lived inside a system where joy looks dangerous,
freedom looks rebellious,
and the presence of the Holy Spirit looks like an accusation against their entire theological foundation.
It wasn’t me they hated.
It was what I represented.
And that’s why the attacks were violent, obsessive, relentless, irrational, disproportionate, and deeply spiritual.
Because a religious spirit will always try to crucify what it cannot control.
Two Gospels. Two Spirits. One Collision.
Let me show you the contrast clearly:
Traditional Latin Mass Religion Says:
Suffer to purify yourself
Submit to man-made authority
Obey the system
Revelation is closed
Only priests can mediate
Pain earns merit
Joy is suspicious
Freedom is rebellion
Transformation is pride
God is distant
Prophetic Christianity Says:
Jesus already purified you
The Holy Spirit speaks today
Obedience comes from relationship, not fear
Revelation is part of sonship
Intimacy is your birthright
Joy is a weapon
Freedom is proof of salvation
Transformation is the fruit of the Spirit
God is near
Can you see it?
These aren’t two denominations.
These are two different kingdoms.
One is religion.
One is relationship.
One is bondage.
One is Spirit.
One is medieval.
One is alive.
No wonder there was war.
Why I Needed This Revelation
Because I spent years wondering:
“Why did they hate me when I did nothing but love?”
The answer:
Light exposes darkness
even when it doesn’t try.
My joy confronted their theology.
My freedom confronted their fear.
My intimacy with God confronted their hierarchy.
My prophetic gift confronted their rituals.
This is why Jesus said:
“If they hated Me, they will hate you also.”
Why?
Because the same spirit still roams the earth today —
the spirit of religion, the spirit of accusation, the spirit of penance, the spirit of fear.
And it recognised the Spirit in me the moment I walked through their door.
Why I’m Writing This
Because someone out there is being attacked by “Christians”
and cannot understand why.
Someone out there feels hunted by a religious spirit masquerading as holiness.
Someone out there has been slandered by people who claimed to serve God.
Someone out there has been spiritually abused by a system that has nothing to do with Jesus.
And they need to know something:
You’re not crazy.
You’re not imagining it.
You’re not the problem.
You walked into a battleground between:
the God of freedom
and the god of fear.
And the clash wasn’t your fault.
It was your calling revealing itself.
Prophets expose religious spirits simply by breathing.
Your presence was enough to provoke a centuries-old war.
And the moment you realise this?
You stop carrying the shame
and start carrying the authority.
With fire and grace,
This message carries fire. Pass it on. 👇🏻
