Let me say this upfront so we’re clear.
Yes, the first few journal entries in this Awakening Pathway begin with a man.
No, this is not a dating blog.
And yes, it needed to start there.
I had been single for most of my adult life — by choice. After becoming a mother, I devoted myself to raising my son. I wasn’t interested in revolving doors of men or half-hearted attention. I wanted to protect my home, my peace, and my integrity. And for years, I did exactly that.
But one day, unexpectedly, I started dating again.
Not in a fairytale way. Not in a candlelit-romance kind of way. But in a way that made me realise — with uncomfortable clarity — that after all these years of healing and growing, I was still calling in the same pattern.
The same type of man.
Emotionally distant.
Spiritually disconnected.
Charismatic, yes, but misaligned with where God was taking me.
And that was the moment everything began to unravel.
Not because of him. He was simply the match.
But because his arrival revealed the fractures still hidden in me — the wounds, the narratives, the unconscious agreements I didn’t know I was still carrying.
This was never about him.
This was about identity.
About the voice I had never fully used.
About the power I had kept simmering beneath the surface.
About the woman I was about to remember.
What followed wasn’t a breakup.
It was a breakthrough.
A soul excavation.
A prophetic quickening.
A Holy Spirit ambush.
And yes — it started with a man.

Yes.

Because the Spirit often comes for us through the ordinary.

This is the beginning of my awakening.
It’s not polished.
It’s not glamorous.
But it is real.
And it leads somewhere holy.
